Manufacturers around the world are putting more stress on developing electric vehicles than convention IC engines powered vehicles. Bajaj’s electric scooter has been spotted testing more than once on the streets of Pune, Maharashtra with the body fully covered. The scooter is said to be under the developing stage under Bajaj’s Urbanite project and the name of this electric scooter is named ‘Chetak’ by the company. Few leaks suggest that the Bosch is involved in the developing of the electric scooter with Bajaj and the production of this scooter is suggested to carry out at the Pune facility of Bajaj.

- The spy shots of the Bajaj Chetak shows that the scooter will have rear drum brakes and front disc brakes setup.
- The e-scooter will be having 12-inch alloy wheels which are also suggested by the snapshots.
- The scooter will have an optional front apron or maybe a detachable one.
- The pictures clearly show a fully digital instrument cluster.
- The shape of the scooter will be something from the past which will be great.
- Other parts that were seen in the photos were handlebar mounted-LED headlamp, Apron-mounted turn indicators, stepped seat and LED tail lamps.
- The internal specification of the e-scooter is yet not known but the scooter was able to maintain the pace above 70 Kmph with ease.
Release Dates and Price
The Bajaj Chetak is expected to be released within 1-2 months that is before the end of 2019. The Bajaj Chetak is expected to have a price tag of Rs.1.1 lakh and will be competing with the Ather 450.
