Mi Mix Alpha with Flexible Screen
Mi Mix Alpha, a concept from the renowned Chinese smartphone brand ( Xiaomi Mi ) is finally official. The concept depicts the property of AMOLED screens to support folding which is ultimately a selection from various possible designs of a smartphone with foldable AMOLED screen suggesting the possible augmentation of screen sizes of the smartphone in the near future. The Concept sets new frontiers for the possible changes which can be brought on a Smartphone’s screen. The Mi Mix Alpha is something different from a smartphone having a foldable AMOLED screen, the fact can be grasped from the image but the glance gives rise to many new questions in the spectator’s mind.
The design
The question was can any phones have the ultimate 100% screen to body ratio. The Mi Mix Alpha not only answers the question but breaks the limit of 100% and sets the limit to 180% of screen to body ratio. The Mi Mix Alpha has got a display which laterally wraps the rear portion of the phone and in wrapped condition keeps the camera module which is placed on a thin black strip, facing the back while in the unwrapped condition the camera module faces front which then can be utilized as a selfie camera. The display used in the concept is flexible super AMOLED display which is known for the potential of delivering vibrant colors, with deep blacks and high contrast. The resolution of the display id speculated to be 2088 X 2250. The Mi Mix Alpha obviously has no bezels on sides but it cannot hide the thin ones which are at top and bottom.
Camera
The Mi Mix Alpha would be the first phone which will have a triple camera setup flaunting 108 MP of primary camera sensor supported by a 12MP telephoto sensor and 20 MP of the ultrawide sensor. The same camera will be used as a selfie camera in unwrapped condition. The phone is expected to support 8K video recording at 30 fps.
Internal hardware
Coming to the internal hardware the phone will sport snapdragon 855+ chipset and 12 GB of RAM. For handling the intense graphic load the Mi Mix Alpha has Adreno 640 GPU. The inbuilt storage of Mi Mix Alpha would be of 512 GB and that too of UFS 3.0. The phone will be powered by 4050 mAh of nonremovable battery and supports fast charging by a 40 W fast charger. There will be an under-display fingerprint scanner for speedy unlocks.
Price and release in India
The price of Mi Mix Alpha would be around Rs. 2,00,000/- and will be released around the end of the year 2019 and to be more precise maybe at the cost of accuracy, 18th December 2019 will be the launch date of Mi Mix Alpha.
