Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy watch LTE launched in India
Samsung the electronics, the tech giant launched the all-new Samsung GALAXY watch Active 2 and GALAXY watch LTE in India alongside the GALAXY Tab S6 and by doing so, Samsung added two wearables in its catalog of products. Both watches look premium and beautiful – simple, lucid and unidentifiably smartwatches at first place, as both are too sleek to recognize them as a thick smartwatch holding the tones of electronic bulk in it. Both – Samsung GALAXY watch Active 2 and GALAXY watch LTE are available online as well as offline retail stores.
GALAXY watch Active 2
The GALAXY Watch Active 2 comes in just a single size – 44 mm and cased in either Aluminium or Stainless steel casing. The variant with Aluminium casing costs Rs.26,990/- while the variant with Stainless steel casing costs Rs.31,990/- only. The GALAXY watch Active Steel can be had in colors like silver, black or gold while the Aluminium ones can be seen in black, rose gold or cloud-silver colors only.
Specifications and features of GALAXY watch Active 2
The Samsung GALAXY watch Active 2 flaunts 1.4 inches super AMOLED display which details the graphics at a resolution of 360 x 360 and offers features like always-on display. Safeguard the watch is Corning’s Gorilla Glass DX+. The watch comes with a rotating touch bezel surrounding the screen that allows interaction with the watch by dragging it or swiping on it in clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
The watch gets its energy from a 340 mAh battery and runs on Samsung’s Exynos 9110 processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. The hardware can withstand the pressure of 5 ATM when water submerged.
The watch will run on TIZEN based OS called Wearable OS which will seamlessly connect with smartphones running Android 5.0 and iOS 9 or higher. The watch offers statistics of calories burnt, sleeping hours, and assessments of 39 other kinds of work-outs using the data from sensors like a heart-rate sensor, ECG sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. The watch also has a barometer and ambient light sensor. The Samsung GALAXY watch Active 2 is an IP68 certified device and also has the certification of MIL-STD 810G.

The GALAXY watch LTE is expected to be revolutionary, as it comes with the feature of e-sim. The GALAXY watch LTE offers all the facilities that a smartwatch can give and that too without a smartphone inside the pocket. The GALAXY watch LTE is designed to serve the wearer independently and with greater ease. The GALAXY watch LTE will enable the wearer to make calls, read messages, use maps and listen to music without a smartphone along with other usual health and fitness-related features.
GALAXY watch LTE - Specifications
The GALAXY watch LTE is negligibly smaller than the Active 2 when it comes to dial size or say display size. The watch LTE comes in two size variants 46 mm with a 1.3-inch display and 42 mm with a 1.2-inch display. The display technology used in watch LTE is the same – super AMOLED always-on display. The straps of 46 mm and 42 mm size can be interchanged by straps of 22 mm and 20 mm size respectively.
The watch LTE 46 mm is powered by 472 mAh battery and the smaller one – 42 mm comes with a smaller battery capacity of 270 mAh. The watch LTE runs on Exynos 9110 dual-core processor at a max frequency of 1.15 GHz. The watch LTE uses 1.5 GB of RAM and stores data on 4 GB of internal storage. The variant with Bluetooth packs slightly less RAM – 768 MB.
This watch runs on wearable os 4.0 based on TIZEN and jam packs all the above-mentioned sensors and with an e-Sim. The watch brings a new feature called stress management that detects high levels of stress and accordingly suggests few breathing exercises to control it.
