Bajaj Discover modified to cafe racing bike in 70,000 INR
In India Bajaj, Discover can be taken as an antonym of racing, as it can never satisfy the criteria of racing which accounts power, speed, and performance and looks altogether. Bajaj Discover is the motorcycle that was designed and still being manufactured for commuters who need commute to their distant workplace using it with the least possible cost, so the bike was designed keeping mileage into consideration and not the performance. So equipping Discover with low power single cylinder 134 cc engine was the rightful choice. But converting it into a racing bike barely makes sense.
Digging into the details of Cafe racing, you can easily find that it has been around since the recent past and now is prevalent among youngsters in India. Cafe racing bikes are those bikes that are light in weight or made lighter by modifying, yet powerful and optimized for better speed and handling which could be at the cost of comfort.

But the outcome of modification cost is the real worth, the bike got a complete makeover from its head to tail except for the heart - engine. The modified Discover now has a round headlamp with the instrument set taken from Bajaj Avenger. The wheels along with rear mono-shock suspension and swing-arm are few gifts from FZ. The only thing which modified Discover has unique is its unibody handcrafted fuel tank attached with a seat cowl. The things which add up to the looks are the symbol from Transformers movie or cartoon which is the logo of AUTOBOTS.
The side mirrors are now up-side-down at either end of the handle. The modified bike is equipped with a custom free-flow exhaust.
All these modifications enable the bike to stand in the cafe racing section just because of its looks. And it is evident from the picture, that it has got the potential to challenge countries’ well-known cafe racer - Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, only in terms of looks.
