Everyone in the world knows what does the word “Motorcycle” means, but not everyone would have come across the phrase Motorcycle as a Service (MaaS), The Co-founder of Micromax, Rahul Sharma has recently launched smart electric motorcycles under the roof of “Revolt intellicorp”, would be available to customers in the form of subscription to which customers would have to pay some fixed amount on monthly basis and there is no option of paying the full amount to get the ownership prior to completion of plan, hence are just left with the subscription offer which is termed as My Revolt Plan (Just like My Jio Plan). This monthly payment for a bike clearly justifies the phrase “Motorcycle as a Service”.
RV400
Revolt RV400 is the Revolt Motors' premium electric motorcycle which company claims to be India’s first smart and AI-enabled electric bike. The ride is powered by a lithium-ion battery which drives an electric motor, the company says that the battery can be fully charged in 4.5 hours and provides a range of at least 80km.
Smart and AI – Features
RV400 provides lots of features which give a great riding experience. The rides come with the facility of geo-locating and geo-fencing. The bike also has 4G – LTE sim which provides internet connectivity and using it software updates can be easily downloaded. The bike comes with a smart remote key to lock or unlock the bike and can also help in locating the bike.
Along with all these customers can also buy a voice-enabled helmet that incorporates Google’s voice technology, which allows the rider to start or stop the bike’s motor with the voice command.
The bike comes with the unlimited warranty for a battery that is of 8 years and the brand says that the battery can last for 1, 50,000 km.
A conventional electric bike doesn’t produce sound but RV400 can make sports bike lovers happy by allowing them to tune the roar of their roar.
The rider also gets the privilege to swap the batteries at swapping stations to extend the range when in need.
Styling and Looks
RV400 looks resemble that of a sports bike like KTM Duke and is ergonomically designed for youngsters of the present generation. The RV400 is available in 2 color variant RED and Black with LED headlight and tail lights. Along with these RV400 has got digital console which is attractive too.
Specification
Power: The bike is drawn by 3KW electric Motor powered by 72 V, 3.24 kWh lithium-ion battery. RV400 has got 3 modes of riding ECO, Normal and sports mode and their respective top speeds are 45kmph, 65kmph, and 85kmph and the range of 180km, 110km, and 80km respectively.
Suspension: The bike houses reverse telescopic suspension at the front and adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
Brakes: The bike has got disc brakes at both the wheels, the size of the front disc is 240mm and that of rear one is 240mm too but with no ABS.
Ground Clearance: 215mm.
Weight: 108 kg.
RV400 has got CBS (combination braking system) and RBS (regenerative braking system).
Pricing and Bookings
RV400 is only available through the abovementioned My Revolt Plan and comes with the pricing of Rs. 3,499 / month for the base model and Rs. 3,999 / month for premium version This plan lasts for 37 months, so ultimately the customer will end up spending 1.29 lakhs and 1.47 lakhs for base and premium model respectively. The customer would have to pay Rs.1000 as a token amount and bookings for the bike have already been started from July and the rides will be delivered the later month. RV400 is now available in Delhi and Pune and will be later available in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, and Chennai.
