Royal Enfield is known for manufacturing and selling bikes with retro looks and old-school styling and Royal Enfield’s interceptor 650 is one of those bikes which revive the appearance of vintage bikes. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 brings along astounding specifications for performance enhancement and retro looks too. The ride rivals Harley Davidson’s street 750 and Kawasaki Z650 on Indian grounds. The Interceptor 650 recently got its price hiked by Rs.6000/- in India the standard variant will be available at Ex-showroom price of Rs.2.5 lakh and the price hike could be the outcome of the rise in demand.

 

 

Looks

As mentioned earlier the bike looks like a bike from the past but with more street type look. The Royal Enfield interceptor 650 flaunts a long seat with a provision for the pillion. Although the seats are too soft and it’s not a traveling bike, the bike’s stance seems to offer great comfort for long journeys. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 comes in Standard, custom and Chrome variant. The tank of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 comes in various colors and named accordingly like silver-specter, baker express, mark tree, Ravishing Red, orange crush and glitter and dust.

 

 

The instrumentation of the bike is retro-styled too which shows twin-pod cluster encasing analog speedometer and tachometer and also a tiny digital pod showing information like fuel level, trip measurements and info from the odometer.

The bike doesn’t have LEDs and  DRLs and comes with a simple round halogen headlamp.

 

Specifications – engine performance

The Royal Enfield Interceptor has a 648 CC fuel-injected parallel twin-cylinder petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 47.65 PS at 7100 rpm and a peak torque of 52 Nm at 4000 rpm.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 using the power from the same air-cooled engine, it can reach the top speed of 146.96 Kmph.

The Engine of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 comes paired with a 6 – speed manual transmission system with a slipper clutch.

At the front, the bike has telescopic fork suspensions and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The front disc brakes measure 320 mm and the rear one measures 240 mm. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 features dual channels ABS as standard.

The Ex-showroom price of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 starts from Rs.2.56 lakhs and goes up to Rs.2.76 lakh for chrome variant.
