Vespa Liberty (3V) soon in India
The Piaggio, an Italian motorcycle brand has enjoyed great success in the Indian motorcycle market. The mopeds available in India from Piaggio with a blend of vintage and modern looks can be easily seen on Indian streets. Piaggio has showcased it’s another model Vespa Liberty 3V at auto expo 2014 in India with other Vespa models which stirred up the crowd and hence are in the intention to launch the scooter in India with some minor changes which enable the scooter to adapt to the hearts and mindsets of Indians. The company is now planning to introduce the scooter into the Indian market.
More than appearance
At the auto expo, the Vespa Liberty 3V performed very well and attracted many people just by its looks. The people at the expo seemed very eager to see the scooter on Indian streets. The Liberty 3V comprises a perfect blend of modern colors and vintage body structure which easily catches the eye.
The front disc brakes and the windshield add to the elegance of the scooter. The scooter in India will be released into colors, white and Blue.
What will power the scooter?
The Liberty 3V is powered by a 125 CC engine which is standard among Vespas and inherently the scooter has 3 valves but the Indian version will not be having 3 valves, this change is in the lieu of reducing fuel consumption and this will dramatically increase the fuel economy. The engine will deliver the power of 10.06 bhp at 7500 rpm. The fuel efficiency of the scooter is expected to be near 59 Kmpl. The torque producing capacity of the engine of the scooter will be 10.4 Nm.
Other Highlights
The Indian version of Vespa liberty will have 14-inch wheels instead of 10-inch wheels and will have disc brakes with electronic immobilizer. The scooter is expected to have a tubeless tyre with alloy wheels.
Release Dates and Price
The Vespa Liberty in India is expected to get released in October 2019 initially at Delhi and later at other cities in India like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and similar cities. The ex-showroom price of the scooter is expected to be around Rs.70,000/- and on-road price to be around Rs. 83,000/- only.
