GoPro, popular among adventure seekers and sports enthusiasts, lately launched two action cameras namely GoPro Hero 8 Black and GoPro Max with Hypersmooth 2.0 stabilization and inbuilt mounting system. The latest additions are the successors of the Gopro’s previously launched successful action camera. GoPro Hero 8 Black is the upgraded version of GoPro Hero 7 Black which was launched in silver and white versions too; however the GoPro Hero 8 Black comes in only Black which is a slight unexpected deviation from the convention. Considering the GoPro Max, it is the successor of the brand’s legendary GoPro Fusion action camera.
GoPro Hero 8 Black
GoPro Hero 8 Black retains its recording capabilities with a resolution of 4K at 60 fps and 1080p at 240 fps. Over GoPro Hero 7 Black, it has cropped field of views to 10 distinct lens emulations – digital lenses. It comes with other delighting features like live streaming, voice control as it can now recognize voice commands, which is helpful for commanding remotely.
The GoPro Hero 8 Black comes in a more compact, rigid and lighter body than GoPro Hero 7 Black which allows easy mounting of mods like media mod, display mod and the light mod. At the right side of the camera body exists a front-facing microphone to record clearer audio. The light mod helps in the enlightening face under a dark environment. The display mod adds a flick up display to get the better judgments of video or images on the go. The media mod allows easy video transfers and augmentation through micro - HDMI port. Moreover, the camera is waterproof up to 10m deep water.
The Hypersmooth 2.0 stabilization and modular accessories are the backbones of the GoPro Hero 8 Black. The Hypersmooth 2.0 stabilization is said to offer ultra-smooth fluidic footages. Along with Hypersmooth 2.0 comes Timewarp 2.0 which allows altering the speed of hyper-lapse clips merely by few touches on the screen. All these features are said to accompany by the revised user-friendly interface.
The price of GoPro Hero 8 is expected to be around Rs.36500/- and will be available after 20th October 2019. For Mods, the user would have to pay the extra amount, for light mod Rs.3540/-, for display mod Rs.5680/-, and for media mod Rs.5680/-
GoPro Max
GoPro Max is more alluring than the GoPro Hero 8 black as like GoPro Fusion it comes with dual lenses. The GoPro Max offers 360-degree image capturing as well as video recording using the dual-lens setup and with the aid of 6 microphones located at proper locations. The camera also allows recording video and capturing images using a single lens.
The dual-lens extends the recording capability up to 5.6k resolution with a 360-degree view at 30 fps. The same 360-degree recording opens the door for VR recordings.
Undoubtedly the GoPro Max will go on sale after 24th October 2019 and will be priced at Rs.47000/- without mods. The mods will be available in later December and will be open for pre-orders in December.
