Popularly known as the “Tin Lizzie”, this car was the first affordable model produced on the first assembly line. The Ford Model T was a four-cylinder basic car only available in black. Now, even if you’ve been living under a rock, it is impossible not to be aware of this iconic car. Despite the company’s plans to discontinue all its vehicles, the Ford Mustang is still a part of its lineup. This first-ever pony car set the benchmark for all the following muscle cars. Over time, Ford Motors has updated the car regularly and has gone through several generations. But, its legacy will remain written in stone.

Thanks to the envelope body of this model, the Ford Custom became a popular choice during the post-World War II era. Later during the 1950s, this car became one of the most popular mileage cars and is considered the epitome of modern engineering. Post-1972, the company discontinued the manufacturing of this model, but it remains a classic.

Welcoming a whole new era for the company, the first generation Ford Endeavour caused a storm in 2003. As a shadow of the classic SUV, this car’s humongous looks pleased the Indian audience and how. Moreover, Ford Motors also revealed the 4WD version of this car, making it the country’s go-to choice.

A year later, the Ford Fusion was introduced in 2004, unraveling the gap between MPVs and Crossovers. This car featured a high roof with an incredible design. The credit for starting the Crossover segment in India goes to Ford Motors. Fusion was considered the most practical car back then, with zero competitors. 

A revamped version of the global icon, Ford Fiesta, this sub-compact Sedan was one of Ford Motors’ most iconic cars. It is best known for delivering an unmatched, smooth and sheer performance. The car led to making the country’s very own JOSH machine.

Just like the Endeavour, this Ford model has also enjoyed its fair share of love and popularity in the Indian market. The Ford Figo model was built on the Fiesta platform and packed all the punch needed for a car so iconic. The handling and ride quality of this car remains unmatched. Thankfully, the car remains in the company’s portfolio, but the first generation was immortal.

We’re pretty sure that the list of Iconic Ford Motors cars took you back to the nostalgia lane. While Ford Motors discontinued manufacturing the iconic cars, some models were doing great in the Indian market until recently. 

 

On September 9, 2021, Fords Motors announced its exit from India. But before that, these three cars performed remarkably in the market. 

Rolling on the roads as one of India’s most popular compact SUVs, the Ford EcoSport was initially launched in 2013. This car is available in six variants: Trend, Titanium, Ambiente, Thunder, Titanium+ and S. 

 

This model has a seating capacity to accommodate five members and is available for two different 1.5-liter engine options. To clarify, the petrol variant delivers a 122 PS, and 149 Nm output, and the diesel variant gives out 100 PS output along with 215 Nm torque. Furthermore, the petrol variant offers a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter diesel engine is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox option. 

 

In terms of features, the Ford Ecosport gets an SYNC3 touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto projector headlamps, and smartphone integration. Additionally, the Ford Ecosport also gets a connected car tech suite. This model flaunts traction control, hill start assist, electronic stability control, and six airbags for safety features.

 

Finally, the pricing for Ford Ecosport ranges between Rs. 8.19 lakh and Rs. 11.73 lakh.

Since 2010, this car has undoubtedly been one of the most preferred vehicles by Ford. The company’s smallest car is offered in four petrol power variants. In addition, Ford offers the Figo in Trend, Titanium, Titanium BLU, and Ambiente. Likewise, the diesel variant of this car is offered in three variants.

 

Furthermore, the Ford Figo has impressive features such as auto headlamps, Ford pass-connected tech, rain-sensing wipers, six airbags, auto-dimming IRVM, and a start-stop push button. The Ford car is also equipped with sporty cosmetics and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

 

Now coming to the powertrain details, the Ford Figo receives a BS6-compliant 1.2-liter petrol engine. This unit delivers 96 PS power output with 119 Nm torque and a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter diesel engine produces a power output of 100 PS with a peak torque of 215 Nm. 

 

The Ford Figo is one of the company’s most affordable cars for pricing. The petrol variants are priced between Rs. 5.39 - Rs. 6.95 lakh. Similarly, the diesel variants are priced in the range of Rs. 6.86 to Rs. 7.85 lakhs.

This compact sedan Ford Aspire model is based on the Figo platform. It is positioned in the same segment as the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, and Hyundai Aura. Again, Ford offers the Aspire in three petrol variants, with only the entry-level model available in the entry-level Ambiente trim. 

 

For the features list, the Ford Aspire gets auto headlamps, auto drumming IRVM, connected car tech, rain-sensing wipers, six airbags, and more. Ford also offers connected tech and a push start-stop button system for the car.
