Kia QYI, a compact SUV to get launched in India in August 2020.
More than once the camouflage of the Kia QYI (codename) was sighted testing on the Indian roads and hence much information on the upcoming compact SUV is now known. The SUV will be the third launch from the Kia which will be launched after the upcoming Kia Grand Carnival MPV launching in the Auto Expo 2020. The Kia QYI is likely to go official in the form of concept at the same Auto Expo alongside of the Kia Grand Carnival MPV and the sales and bookings of the same SUV are expected to begin post-August 2020 in India.
Looks of Kia QYI
The camouflages of the Kia QYI didn’t reveal much except the LED taillights and few other glimpses which suggest tiger-nose grille at the front, silver roof rails and the LED headlamps. The Kia QYI when launched, will rival cars like Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 300, TATA Nexon, Ford Ecosport and more importantly the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The SUV will profoundly stand as an alternative to the above-mentioned cars and may defeat some of them in all aspects. The body shape of the QYI somewhat resembles the shape of the Kia Seltos. The camouflage was also seen to have things like Shark Fin antenna, dual-tone ORVM holding the LED turn indicators and the touchscreen infotainment system inside probably the one with UVO connect.
Engine and power train of Kia QYI
The Kia QYI will come in Engine options like that of Hyundai Venue like 82 bhp 1.2 Liter petrol engine mated with a 5 speed gearbox as a manual transmission system, 1.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine with direct fuel injection system producing a power of 182 bhp and peak torque of 172 Nm - coupled with a 5 speed MT gearbox or a 7 speed DCT one, and a diesel variant with 1.5 liter diesel engine which will be presented as a detuned version of the Kia Seltos diesel which will produce 90 bhp and will be attached to a 6 speed MT system.
Features of Kia QYI
The upcoming Kia QIY will definitely have a smart infotainment system that will support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The features within the system will be hosted by UVO connect and the car will more feature like that Hyundai Venue.
Price
The ex-Showroom price of the upcoming Kia QYI will be in the range of Rs.8.0 lakh and Rs.10.0 lakh.
