Price drops of iPhone XR, older iPhones, and Apple watch series 3 in the Indian market.
The kind of drawback of electronic gadgets is that their price goes down in no time and the reason behind such speedy price drop is launch (or availability) of newer versions with the latest technology which pushes older electronics out of demand boundary. The launch of new iPhones and Apple watch series 5 cuts down the price of previous iPhones and Apple watches.
Apple INC has officially stated the price drop of last year’s iPhone XR, previous iPhones like iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and older iPhones like iPhone 7 and iPhone 8. The launch of Apple watches series 5 has not remained inert to the prices of Apple watch series 3 and other older Apple watches. These price drops are done keeping the Indian market into consideration as India is a vast nation with a very high population. Although overall Apple is not doing a great job in the Indian market as the market is dominated by Korean and Chinese smartphone brands, yet Apple has maintained its leading position in premium segment smartphones in the Indian market.
Price Drops
Apple iPhone XR
At the launch, the Apple iPhone XR was priced at Rs.76,900/- for 64 GB variants in India last year and after the launch event of new iPhones, the price has dropped to Rs.49,999/- for 64 GB variant. The price of 128 GB iPhone XR has also dropped and is Rs.54,900/-. In short, Apple iPhone XR gets 35% of solid price cut due to the arrival of new iPhones.
Apple iPhone XS
The price of iPhone XS has significantly dropped by Rs.10, 000 for 64 GB version. Previously the price of iPhone XS 64 GB was Rs.99, 990/- and after the recent launch event it has dropped to Rs.89, 990/- for the same 64 GB version. The price of 256 GB variant is Rs.1, 03,900/-
Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are too affected by the latest arrivals. The iPhone 8 (64 GB) now costs Rs.39, 990/- only and the iPhone 8 Plus (64 GB) costs Rs.49, 990/-.
Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
The same thing goes for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The base model of the iPhone 7 (32 GB) costs Rs. 29,990/- and iPhone 7 Plus (32 GB) costs Rs. 34,990/- only.
Apple watch series 3
The announcement of the new apple watch series 5 drops the price of Apple watch series 3 and older Apple watches. The base model of Apple watch series 3 is now available at just Rs.20, 900/- and mind well this model doesn’t have any cellular support.
