Minimalistic design with advanced touch controls.

Google jumped into the arena of truly wireless earphones which is evident from its recent unveiling of Google Pixel Buds 2 the same seems to surpass all other currently available wireless earbuds in terms of design, features and most importantly sound. In certain aspects, the upcoming Pixel Buds will set off Apple Airpods without any hardship as it looks more ergonomic and comfortable and it even promises to sound beyond the premium mark.

The design – that suits most – First Impression

Google has done a great job in designing the Pixel Buds 2. The Pixel Buds 2 at a distant glance looks like tiny coloured concentric circles placed in the ears which look great to some but there exist odds who may derogate such colouration. Google claims that the Pixel Buds will slide to fit in the ears and provide utmost comfort using a vent. The vent may convey some from outside sound but the noise is justified by the comfort and fit. The wing protruding from the side helps in locking the orientation of the earbuds and prevents accidental falls. In conclusion, the design proves to be the best in class if the size is taken out of criteria.

The tiny size may for some be a cause of concern as handling small things is challenging to few who have cultivated a habit of losing such minute objects. Google took care for the easy positioning of earbuds in the case for charging by the use of magnets, the user just needs to place the buds into the case at any angle, the buds will orient themselves into the charging positions by the influence of magnets, this seems to be a boon to those who have relatively large fingers for the task.

The Pixel Buds 2 are rated to be sweatproof and water-resistant which enables its scope for sports usage, for instance at the gym, while jogging, or cycling or running on the treadmill.

Features

The Google Pixel Buds 2 features a touch control system to play, pause and alter the volume levels at users' convenience. When paired with smartphones running on Android version N or higher the Google Pixel Buds 2 will automatically detect external noise levels and will optimize the sound accordingly. Google Pixel Buds 2 can also trigger Google Assistant and can perform things like live translating languages. Google promises to bring other AI features overtime to augment its scope.

The connectivity range of Google Pixel Buds 2 is said to be across 2 to 3 rooms indoors and as long as a football field outdoors given that there are no obstacles. The buds come with a bunch of accelerometers that can detect head and jaw movements and optimize the sound quality in calls accordingly.

Moreover, the earbuds come with a battery life of 5 hours of continuous listening and the charging case offers a battery backup of 24 hours of continuous listening.

Launch

The Google Pixel Buds 2 is expected to get launched during spring of 2020 and is anticipated to cost around Rs.16000/- in India. The buds will come in a variety of colour options.

All in all, in the present scenario the Pixel Buds 2 seems to be a better option to widely renowned AirPods, but no one knows what resides in the Future.
