Google Pay New Updates
There exists many renowned and secure online payment platform in India and Google Pay is one of them. Google has been marketing its security provided in online transactions done via Google Pay through Ads on television by statements like “ pay with google security “ or “ money made simple”. And to make it more secure Google announced new updates at Google for India event at New Delhi on 19th September 2019.
New feature updates for Google Pay is on the way which will make online transactions more secure and will bring one additional feature for merchants in India. Google Pay will support two new main features
- Tokenized cards
- Spot Platform
- Job Spot
Tokenized Cards
It is very boring and time-consuming to add a credit or debit card details like card number, name, CVV and expiry date every time to pay, as saving card details over websites or apps is not a safe option. Even adding debit or credit card details for once on website is not safe. Google has found an alternative to make it safe and secure.
How does it work?
For this google introduced tokenized cards, in this system, the merchant will be sent a tokenized card details instead of actual debit or credit card details which will keep customers’ card details secret from the merchant.
This feature is similar to the lately introduced UPI system which was meant for account transfer but the tokenized cards can send money bank accounts, e-wallets and can be used for buying things online form e-stores.
Google is soon going to roll out this feature for Visa cards of Hdfc, SBI, Axis, Kotak, and Standard Chartered bank and most probably in the forthcoming week. The support to Master Cards and Rupay Cards will be provided in the upcoming months.
Spot Platform
Imagine a world where you can start your online business without developing a website or registering your business on an online store. That world exists in the very near future as google announced the Spot platform.
Spot platform will provide the facility to merchants to create a Spot on Google Pay where they can be reached by customers and where they can present their catalog or brochure of products they sell. The Spot platform will support JAVA and HTML language to customize the Spot according to the merchant. This will make things easy for the customer too. Customers can find the information related to products on Google Pay and can even pay for the same using the same app which will spare them from opening any other payment app. Customers can even pay at the offline market if the merchant has a spot on Google Pay and a scan able code to reach the spot easily for this the payer would require an NFC enabled smartphone.
Few have merchants like Make My Trip, Fit, Go Ibibo, Oven story, Red Bus and Urban Clap have already got their spot on Google Pay and many others will get in the future.
Job Spot
The job spot is another feature which will be added in near future update and as the name suggests it will be for Job Seekers. Using Job spot the user will able to apply to the listed job online and even schedule the interview. The function will provide job suggestions to the user and will also suggest courses to be further pursued to get better employment opportunities. This feature will also help users in preparing for job interviews and will lend a helping hand in learning new skills.
