Story
Mr. Manu Malhotra (MD and CEO) had one of his best night’s sleep at a resort at Mauritius in 1992 after spending more than a year sleeping at places as varied as friend’s apartments, railway stations & even the benches on the Marine Drive at Bombay.
The Mauritius jaunt was a conference trip courtesy Reliance Industries Ltd. where he managed to find work.
MM loved the sleep quality & the mattress wondering why they were not available in India.
Back in India the search began at local mattress showrooms; grimy small samples of assorted rubber foam & coconut coir .Pushy salesmen pushed him to buy. To make matters worse, one mattress he bought could not be returned within a year of use inspite of an absurd ten year guarantee. The mattress Industry had no wonder been notoriously confusing and customers did not exactly look forward to go shopping for a mattress.
MM got in touch with the best luxury mattress company abroad and two years later, with limited means but open minded resourcefulness, manufactured the very first Premium Luxury Mattress with Inner Coil Spring Support in India in 1995.
