Smartphones are basically assessed on the basis of its display, camera quality, and speed and out of these, camera quality is the major concern for many buyers around the globe.

The recent trend of providing more than one camera sensor (double or triple or quad) on the smartphone is accompanied by towering the resolution of the primary camera sensor. Recently released smartphones has jumped directly to 48 MP from 12 MP. Now even smartphones with 64 MP of primary camera sensor are into existence and because of this now a day’s some mid-range smartphones and budget smartphones too have 48 MP of primary camera sensor, thanks to the fierce competition in smartphone market developed by renowned Chinese brands.

There are many smartphones with 48 MP of primary camera sensor available in the market, but the top four mid-range smartphones with 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and 48 MP primary camera sensor  are

  1. Realme 5 Pro (Rs.17,000/-)
  2. Realme X (Rs.20,000/-) or Vivo Z1x (Rs. 19,000/-)
  3. Samsung Galaxy A50s (Rs.24,000/-)
  4. Oppo F11 Pro (Rs.20,000/-)
  1. Realme 5 Pro

Among the Mid-range smartphones, Realme 5 Pro ranks first in terms of camera quality as it has an AI-based quad-camera setup which successfully captures high-quality images in low light as well. Realme 5 Pro has [48 MP f/1.8(wide)] + [8 MP f/2.2(ultrawide)] + [2 MP f/2.4(dedicated macro)] + [2 MP f/2.4 (Depth sensor)] camera setup and 16 MP f2.0 front-facing camera. The phone clicks images with natural colors, unlike Galaxy A50s which produces images with vibrant colors and more contrast. In darker regions, Galaxy A50s fails to capture detailing, unlike Realme 5 Pro.

  1. Realme X or Vivo Z1x

Realme X and Vivo Z1x have similar kinds of camera quality and Vivo Z1x has one advantage over Realme X and that is an ultrawide sensor. Realme X does not have a quad-camera setup but has a dual-camera setup containing a 48 MP of f1.7 (wide) camera sensor and a 5 MP of f/2.4 (depth-sensing) camera sensor. Realme X captures slightly brighter images than Realme 5 Pro and hence on the negative side loses some detailing under highlights. Under low lighting condition, it captures images better than Realme 5 pro but in the competition of capturing ultrawide images, Realme 5 pro defeats Realme X as it has no ultrawide sensor and cannot capture ultrawide images. The front-facing camera is the same as that of Realme 5 Pro but it is Pop-up kind.

  1. Galaxy A50s

Samsung GALAXY A50s comes with a triple camera setup which consists of 48 MP of f2.0 (wide) camera sensor, 8 MP of f/2.2 (ultrawide) camera sensor and a 5 MP of f/2.4 (depth-sensing) camera sensor. The GALAXY A50s produces images with vibrant color deviated slightly deviated from actual colors to make image look beautiful and eye-catching. As the main camera sensor of GALAXY A50s is of f/2.0 it struggles slightly in low lighting condition when compared to Realme 5 Pro. For selfies, GALAXY A50s comes with 32 MP of f/2.0 camera sensor like Vivo Z1x.

  1. Oppo F11 Pro

Oppo F11 Pro clicks images of quality similar to that of Realme X but struggles to produce accurate color many times. The camera quality is although good but yielding more contrast in videos is at the cost of losing details. The camera setup of Oppo F11 pro is similar to Realme X but the primary camera sensor of 48 MP has an aperture of f/1.7 and hence manages to capture more light but the end results are not according to hardware. For selfies, Oppo F11 pro has 16 MP of f/2.0 camera sensor.
